It takes some playing with but the opportunity is there and worth pursuing. Garlic is a must have ingredient here and you can also use a creamy white sauce instead of tomato. 4) Corned Beef This is another one that might not sound appetizing at first, but it's a popular dish for a reason. The salty flavor of the corned beef pairs perfectly with the tangy sauerkraut, and it's a flavor combination that you won't soon forget. If you're feeling adventurous, try adding some hot sauce to really give the pizza a kick. While untraditional in most places, this is a crowd pleaser and one worth pursuing. 8) Asparagus This is a great vegetable to use as a pizza topping, as it has a delicate flavor that pairs well with both cheese and tomato sauce. Stick with mozzarella cheese as it won't overpower the delicate flavor of the asparagus. If you're looking to really bring out the flavor of the asparagus, try roasting it before adding it to the pizza. This will help to caramelize the natural sugars and give the asparagus a nice smoky flavor. 9) Blue Cheese This is a controversial one, as many people either love it or hate it. However, if you're a fan of blue cheese then you'll love it as a pizza topping. The bold flavor of the blue cheese pairs nicely with the sweetness of the tomato sauce. The bread's crunchy texture also helps make sure this doesn't become one funky, mush-fest. Balsamic and spinach also work seamlessly with blue cheese.
